Overview

This journey is a refreshing escape from city life into the peaceful Himalayas, where every day brings you closer to nature. Starting from Delhi, you travel to the spiritual town of Rishikesh and then move deeper into the mountains towards Chopta, often called the “Mini Switzerland of India.” The highlight of the trip is the trek to Tungnath, the highest Shiva temple in the world, offering breathtaking views. You also explore the serene Deoria Tal, known for its mirror-like reflections of snow-capped peaks. It’s a perfect mix of road travel, light trekking, and calm mountain experiences—ideal for nature lovers and adventure seekers.

Itinerary Details

Day 1: Delhi – Rishikesh by Drive

Begin your journey with a scenic drive from Delhi to Rishikesh. Upon arrival, check in to your hotel and relax. In the evening, you can explore the local market or attend the peaceful Ganga Aarti at Triveni Ghat, which sets a spiritual tone for the trip.

Day 2: Rishikesh – Chopta by Drive

After breakfast, drive towards Chopta through winding mountain roads and beautiful landscapes. En route, enjoy views of rivers, forests, and small hill towns. Reach Chopta by evening, check in to your stay, and enjoy the calm surroundings.

Day 3: Chopta – Tungnath – Chopta (3.5 km Trek)

Start early for the trek to Tungnath Temple, which is around 3.5 km one way. The trail is well-marked and offers stunning views of the Himalayas. After visiting the temple, you can continue a bit further to Chandrashila peak (optional) for panoramic views. Return to Chopta by evening and relax.

Day 4: Chopta – Sari Village – Deoria Tal (Drive/Trek)

Drive to Sari Village, the starting point for Deoria Tal trek. From here, trek around 2–3 km to reach the lake. Deoria Tal is famous for its crystal-clear water reflecting the surrounding peaks. Spend some peaceful time here before heading back.

Day 5: Deoria Tal – Rishikesh by Drive

After breakfast, begin your return journey to Rishikesh. Enjoy the scenic drive back through the hills. Upon arrival, you can either stay overnight or continue your onward journey.
