This 7-day Sikkim trip is a calm yet scenic Himalayan escape that takes you from Gangtok into the heart of North Sikkim. You begin with the lively charm of Gangtok, move on to the peaceful beauty of Tsomgo Lake and Baba Mandir, and then travel deeper into the mountains to Lachen and Lachung.Along the way, you experience quiet villages, snow-fed rivers, waterfalls, and wide-open valleys that feel untouched and refreshing. The journey slowly unwinds before returning to Gangtok for departure, leaving you with pure mountain memories.

Itinerary Details

Day 1: Arrival at Bagdogra – Drive to Gangtok

Arrive at Bagdogra Airport or New Jalpaiguri Railway Station and begin your scenic drive towards Gangtok. The route winds through hills, rivers, and lush greenery, offering your first taste of the Himalayas.
On arrival, check in to your hotel and spend the evening at leisure exploring MG Marg, the vibrant heart of Gangtok.Overnight stay: Gangtok

Day 2: Gangtok – Tsomgo Lake & Baba Mandir Excursion

After breakfast, head for a full-day excursion to Tsomgo Lake, a stunning glacial lake surrounded by snow-clad mountains. The changing colors of the lake make it a surreal experience.
Continue to Baba Harbhajan Singh Mandir, a revered shrine with a unique local legend.
You can also opt for Nathula Pass (subject to permit and weather conditions).Return to Gangtok by evening.Overnight stay: Gangtok

Day 3: Gangtok – Drive to Lachen (approx. 6–7 hrs)

After an early breakfast, begin your journey towards North Sikkim. En route, enjoy scenic stops at Seven Sisters Waterfall, Naga Waterfall, and Chungthang Valley.
The landscapes gradually turn raw and dramatic as you approach Lachen, a peaceful mountain village.Check in and relax in the crisp mountain air.Overnight stay: Lachen

Day 4: Lachen – Drive to Lachung via Gurudongmar Route (approx. 6–7 hrs)

Early morning, drive through stunning high-altitude terrain and waterfalls towards Lachung.
On the way, enjoy views of snow peaks, alpine forests, and the confluence of rivers.Reach Lachung by evening and settle into your hotel in this picturesque village.Overnight stay: Lachung

Day 5: Lachung Sightseeing – Yumthang Valley Excursion

After breakfast, visit the breathtaking Yumthang Valley, also known as the “Valley of Flowers of Sikkim.” The valley is surrounded by snow-capped peaks and blooming alpine flowers (seasonal).
You can also visit Zero Point (optional) for a snow experience.Return to Lachung by afternoon and spend a relaxed evening.Overnight stay: Lachung

Day 6: Lachung – Return to Gangtok (approx. 6–7 hrs)

After breakfast, drive back to Gangtok through the scenic mountain roads. The journey offers one last chance to enjoy waterfalls, valleys, and river views.
Arrive in Gangtok and check in to your hotel. Evening free for shopping or leisure.Overnight stay: Gangtok

Day 7: Departure from Gangtok – Bagdogra

After breakfast, check out from the hotel and drive back to Bagdogra Airport or NJP Railway Station with beautiful Himalayan memories.
